On June 6, 2023, Russian occupation forces blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, causing one of the largest man-made disasters in Ukraine’s history. The tragedy led to the flooding of dozens of towns and villages, the destruction of unique ecosystems, and left over one million people without access to drinking water.
